Elio Leoni-Sceti, 42, was born and educated in Rome and started his career in 1988 as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble before moving to FTSE 30 consumer brands company Reckitt Benckiser in 1992 as a category manager.  His stellar 16 year career with Reckitt Benckiser saw him lead some outstanding brand successes and exceptional business performance in the Unites States and Europe.  His most recent role there, from 2001-2008, was as an Executive Vice President and a key player in the growth of the company. 

From 2001 to 2005, Leoni-Sceti was Reckitt Benckiser’s Global Head of Category Development, strengthening the company’s recognised leadership in product innovation and global branding, while creating a new culture of integrated media and communication.  From 2005, he was Reckitt Benckiser’s Head of Europe, responsible for a £3 billion business which, under his leadership, saw accelerated growth levels and built a stronger competitive position for the company’s major brands.

He joined EMI Music as its chief executive in September 2008.
