The Media Summit 2008 was an unqualified success, attracting over 300 delegates hungry to hear what the best and brightest minds had to share on the topics that keep the industry awake at night. They weren't disappointed.
No stone was left unturned as the audience were kept enthralled by some of the most engaging and innovative speakers in the world today.
As if that wasn’t enough, exclusive revelations peppered the day, creating headlines of their own. The Media Summit 2008 was where the industry first learned of the premature demise of Kate Modern from none other Bebo’s own Joanna Shields, and of The Orchard’s Scott Cohen’s hope to establish a levy on ISPs to offset the gargantuan losses suffered by the music industry from illegal downloading. Bob Greenberg of RG/A hinted at the possibilities the mobile market offers, a world where the "fourth screen will become the first", Elisabeth Murdoch revealed Shine’s plans to acquire Reveille and John Smith of BBC Worldwide gave us the jump on Project Kangaroo. The Media Summit once again proved it is a destination event where the most senior figures feel comfortable to announce some of their most critical information in an atmosphere of their peers.
This year’s event was a complete sell-out, so make sure you don’t miss out on The Media Summit 2009.
